About KristyHorine

Kristy Horine is a homespun Christian writer. She collects the simple beauty of small, everyday moments and turns them into stories that point to the goodness of the LORD. In between poetry and prose, she is delightfully distracted by spinning wheels and crochet hooks, tatting shuttles and simple looms. She appreciates coffee, chocolate, and bread in various arrangements. 

When she’s not serving as the emotional support human for the goofiest Golden Retriever, she’s either preparing for, or recovering from, grand adventures with her husband and the youngest of their four children. 

Over the last thirty years, magazines, newspapers, anthologies and journals have carried the Kristy Horine byline. She’s even won a few contests and awards – occurrences that never cease to amaze her. 

Kristy is a faithful member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) since 2018 and serves as vice president of the ACFW-Kentucky Chapter. She loves the rabbit trails of research and gathers story threads along every path, believing no writing is wasted. 

And speaking of the writing … Kristy writes all of her own stories, preferring a pencil and whatever scrap of paper is closest to her hand for first drafts. As an Image Bearer of the Living God, Kristy does not rely on generative artificial intelligence. She believes her own stories are enough and endeavors to honor the gift and calling of God on her creative life by telling them for His glory. 

Right now, Kristy calls Kentucky home, but her eternal security is found in Christ alone, by Grace alone, through Faith alone. It is in this assurance that she stands and writes.
